Q. What are the prospects of IRSL post WTO?
The MFA will cease to exist post January 1, 2005. The large US and the European
markets will open up for India. We are poised for significant growth, being
very well positioned to harness the emerging opportunities to their optimum
potential. Our products are not only benchmarked against global standards but
are also the most cost-effective. Hence, we are confident that we will be the
preferred choice in these new markets.
Q. What are the benefits from the Free Markets Tie-Up?
With globalization, it has become imperative for the industry to stay abreast
with the developments in IT. Our tie up with Free Markets made us the pioneers
in e- sourcing and was in synergy with our focus to stay technology savvy. The
tie up has not only helped us to bring down input costs but has ensured that
we avail quality products at the best possible deals.

Q. How is the domestic market looking for the company?
The domestic market looks very buoyant as the growth in GDP and rise of the
middle class has led to a significant rise in the disposable income. We are
targeting to expand our share of the market and place the all- polyester products
in the premium niche market too. Being the largest dedicated polyester manufacturer
in the country, our share in the conventional markets of polyester is significant.
Now we are also targetting the Non-apparel segments such as home furnishings
and geo textiles. Our research and development department has recently successfully
tested the application of polyester in bicycle tyres.
